Milford-based Subway will launch a new breakfast menu next month, according to Nation's Restaurant News.
The chain of sandwich shops will roll out a selection of egg and cheese sandwiches at more than 25,000 of their North America locations, beginning April 5. The breakfast items debuted March 1 in Canada.
The sandwiches will be made with omelets- regular eggs or egg whites and cheese -served on English muffins, flatbread or Subway's fresh-baked sub rolls. Options include Western egg and cheese, Black Forest ham and cheese, bacon and cheese and steak, egg and cheese. Customers can add any of Subway's regular lunchtime condiments or vegetables to their order. Prices range from $1.75 for an English muffin melt to $6 for a footlong sandwich.
The new items were designed to be healthful, with a "low-fat emphasis," Subway spokesman Kevin Kane told NRN. Subway also plans to use cage-free eggs in their products.
One of Subway's biggest market rivals, Quiznos, launched a national breakfast menu in its convenience store locations earlier this month, offering egg-and-meat "breakfast Sammies," a country sausage and egg biscuit and a giant cinnamon roll.

Why not? They are paying the rent! How about also offering beer and wine?
SEEMS TO ME: That SUBWAY gives you a plastic bag for your food, even when you eat in the store. Wasteful, not very "GREEN" This is my new cause, the Greening of Subway. Who's with me?
Write SUBWAY and tell them your thoughts.
Thanks.

I am. Not only is the plastic bag stupid, we always beg them to just leave the paper open so that the sandwich is not tossed around everywhere and most of the stuff falls off. It just becomes a mess. Even a paper plate they don't have. Thanks for writing this useful blog suggestion.
Maybe they should cutback on internal waste and add more veges to the sandwiches. They are really getting skimpy. You can actually count how many veges they put on. Quit going as often so dissappointing.
