Bastille Day Menus At Cavey's; Restaurant L&E

Cavey's marks the French national holiday with a menu full of local produce. The multi-course meal includes local lobster salad with summer truffles; cold Draghi Farm heirloom tomato soup with squash blossoms and house-made French farmer's cheese; trois couchons (Botticello Farm pork three ways) and Belltown Farm clafoutis with nectarine creamsicle. French wines selected specially for each course are available for an extra charge. The dinner is $49 per person, plus tax and gratuity. For reservations, call 860-643-2751. Restaurant L&E and French 75 Bar serves a four-course prix-fixe menu with chocolate truffles and coffee for $48 per person; or $92 with Gosset Brut Champagne and suggested wine pairings for each course. The meal includes choices of cauliflower and leek vichyssoise with smoked salmon; salad nicoise; pan-seared foie gras with fig bread and blackberry jam; oysters on the half-shell; oven-roasted squab or roast leg of lamb.
