Connecticut can't get enough of its sweets on wheels. The Cupcake Brake, a mobile cupcake bakery based out of Vernon, will soon be joined by a "pie truck," according to a company blog post.
"We will be start [sic] a new truck in the next couple of weeks, The Pie Brake. Anything that will pertain to pies will be on the truck," the post reads.
"Anything that will pertain to pies will be on the truck. Fruit pies, cream pies, savory pies...sold whole and by the slice."
The Cupcake Brake is owned and operated by Larry DeNorio of Vernon, a former financial planner. Since March, the little yellow truck has parked at various spots throughout Hartford and the surrounding suburbs, selling fresh-baked, custom-frosted cupcakes with kitschy Connecticut-themed monikers.
There's Plain Twain (vanilla), Mohegan Mocha (coffee), Coconut Calhoun, Yankee Lemon, Mystic Marble, Vernon Velvet and The Capitol (vanilla with pecans, pineapple and banana.) Charter Oak Chocolate is offered every day. Click here for the full menu of flavors.
